Participant must be a member in good standing  of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters.

Applications for classes must be made a minimum of 15 days prior to the first date of class sessions.

UBC Rigging  32 hrs   Required course for GE Gas Turbine Qualification. Qualification Card will be issued

UBC/GE Gas Turbine Familiarization Course   24 hours   Required course for GE Gas Turbine Qualification.

UBC/GE Gas Turbine Qualification  

5 day, hands-on training workshops conducted at the UBC  International Center in Las Vegas Nevada. Cost will be covered by UBC International Training fund. Dates to be announced.

Participation in the Las Vegas portion of UBC/GE turbine qualification training will be limied to millwrights who have completed all prerequisite training and have approval of the M.R.C.C.  

Construction Math  8 hrs    

Barrel Ceiling Framing  16 hrs             

Building Materials Estimating    16 hrs      

Hilti Powder Actuated Tool Licensing    2 hrs               

Laser Safety  3 hrs  Operator card will be issued  

UBC Asbestos Worker Course  32 hrs Certification card will be issued

 

Scaffold Certification 40 hrs       
This workshop is for carpenters that are not regular scaffold erectors or carpenters that have never erected any scaffolding other than basic welded frame scaffolding. It covers Systems, Tube & Clamp, Welded Frame, Mobile Towers, Regulations, and Fall Protection. Class schedule will be contingent upon number of participants, call the Training Facility  for dates and times.

Full Scaffold Qualification  

Refresher Training  8 hrs (For those whose cards are about to expire)

Tube & Coupler  20 hrs  

Welded Frame/Mobile Tower  16 hrs  

Systems Scaffold 16 hrs  

Fall Protection 8 hrs 

UBC/Ingersoll Rand Hardware Certification  24-28 hrs  Certification card will be issued  

Required tool List  Hammer, Tape Measure, 3/4"wood chisel, Hacksaw, 2 1/8" hole saw, Allen wrench set, Spade bits 1/4"-2", Combination square, Utility knife, Torpedo level.

Drill index:#1,#2,#3,Philliips and#1,#2,#3,slotted.

UBC Solid Surface Certification  12 hrs  Certification card will be issued

Solid Surface Refresher  4 hrs  

Site Building Layout  16 hrs 

UBC Fire Stop Insulation 8 hrs Operators cards will be issued

Welding  24hrs

Laser Alignment  8 hrs Completion certificate will be issued

Confined Space 16 hrs Certification: 29 CFR 1910.146

Forklift Qualification 8 hrs  Completion Certificate will be issued

OSHA 10  10 hrs  OSHA “10” and UBC Smart Mark Card will be issued.

Grid Ceiling Systems 14 hrs

Plastic Laminate Countertops 16 hrs

Metal Stud Framing 16 hrs

Blue Print II 12 hrs

Transit Level I 12-16 hrs

Stairs I   12-16 hrs

Rafters I 16 hrs

This program provides comprehensive, computer-based safety training for our members. It features a robust, interactive training system that teaches standard operating procedures and safe work practices in a consistent, thorough format no matter when, where, or by whom the training is administered. Safe worker readiness is the goal! Designed to meet the safety training requirements to work in automotive plants and for other employers. The Training Fund will provide with out cost up to four modules training per participant.
